I am no longer active on DebateIsland or any debate website. Many things I have posted here and on other sites (Such as believing in the flat Earth theory or other conspiracy theories such as those that are about the Las Vegas Shooting or 9/11) do not reflect on my current views.

If you break it down into a list of what each can do, what it's based on, it's adaptability, the options it provides for developers etc then we can see.

    ANDROID PROS:
    • Open source (manufacturers can market their phones cheaper than Apple since they have no fee for the OS, they can focus costs onto the hardware. Also means users can do what they wish with the software of the phone.)
    • Based on a true and tests base from desktop computing, UNIX building on the Linux Kernel. (This provides a system that can run and adapt to a huge area of hardware, less work is done with updates and developers can easily tie into the hardware directly without going through upper level API's.)
    • Diverse (if you don't like one android phone, try another! They are different which means there will always be a phone to appeal to someone.)
    • Third party (You can get a phone with Quad DAC, a phone with 3D, a phone with 2 displays the possibilities are endless.)
    • Customization (Want to move the icons? Do it. Want a widget? Do it, tired of the entire home screen/launcher? Download a new one? New lock screen? go for it.)
    • Apps generally will be cheaper or free where as apps on iOS may have a charge to cover developer costs.
    • Phones generally are cheaper
There is more but i'll leave these major bits which are what the consumer would care for.

    iOS PROS:
    • Hardware and Software specific (less chance of freezes, crashes or slowdowns as the system is optimised specifically for the hardware it runs on, this is why an iPhone can have a very small battery of 1950mAH and last a full day, Android phones differ and optimisation can be shaky, a 4900mAH could possibly last just a day as well.
    • Support from one company, with iOS all coming from Apple it means they can promote and push the system further, getting developers on board is easier, developers have to optimise their apps per phone on Android, it may run on one phone but not on another.
    • Full suite of apps included that fit together nicely, music, movies, books, games, weather, news, stocks and a range of tools. No need to download a variety of third party apps for a different purpose.
If anyone can think of more iOS pro's please let me know I don't own an iPhone but have in the past. And I keep up to date with tech news and gadgets so always reading news.

My personal opinion is Android is better for the main reason it is Open Source which is always better, it comes on a variety of phones. I actively hate the look and shape of the iPhone. And that you can have it the way YOU want not the way Apple wants it. Being able to only change a wallpaper is something that's even more basic than Windows 95. Come on Apple.

Android. I think Schnuupi has said it all. If anyone disagrees with Schnuupi, I'll cover for him/her.

Apple is always the worse option in any paradigm. Even when they first made the iPod it was so not worth buying over a walkman both economically AND technologically (there was simply so few digitised songs at the time). By the time it was worth looking at digitised songs, there were already efficient means of bypassing the system (that were technically legal) and even now that they are outlawed, in no way whatsoever does iTunes outdo Spotify Premium unless you are a music producer who needs actual downloadable tracks to edit then yes Apple is superior.

In short, unless you are willing to spend a lot and are an artist of some kind, Apple will always be the inferior option.

Do not take me for a cheap-skate, I love my Google Pixel (not pixel 2, I bought it before that came out). It's a fabulous phone at the height of Android technology and the fact that the Pixel 2 is the hottest phone on the market only further proves what a wise decision I made buying the first one that was cheaper and by far the best option of its era. Now the pixel 2 is the best option but I'm not gonna waste my cash as everything it does better than the original pixel isn't too relevant to me (photo quality etc etc).
