@jack ; It's not about "timing," Jack...it's about the heart. It's very foolish to believe that our omniscient Creator is unable to differentiate between sincerity and insincerity. Many will say to Him in the Day of Judgment "Lord-Lord"...but He will tell them that He never knew them. Entering into Covenant relationship with Jesus is a matter of the heart, faith, trust, belief, with sincerity.

Jesus is the only Way to Heaven (John 14:6) and if you've honestly trusted in Him as your Messiah, the indwelling Holy Spirit will testify with your spirit that you do indeed belong to the Father, eternally....no need to worry or speculate.
