Not according to the bile ...
    • "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination." Chapter 18 verse 22[1]
    • "If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them." Chapter 20 verse 13[2]
But of course Christians now reinterpret the bile to allow gays feel more accepted into the fold , I’m afraid the truth is gays have to roast in Hell for eternity and it’s all in the bile .

Why do you guys worship such a tyrant?

Why would I even need to read that when the bile is quiet clear about gays , it’s all there in
black and white in the bile

@Joeseph I will ask you what I ask conservatives: Where did Jesus condemn gay marriage?
  • JoesephJoeseph 655 Pts   -
    @YeshuaBought

Where did he approve of it? Also the verses are quiet clear in what they state that is unless you suggest Jesus disagreed with god

  • YeshuaBoughtYeshuaBought 669 Pts   -
@Joeseph So you can't tell me where He spoke against it? I don't have to prove a negative, but I will: https://www.gaychristian101.com/Gay-Centurion.html
  • JoesephJoeseph 655 Pts   -
    @YeshuaBought

You do realise gay marriage was unheard of in ancient times so why would he even talk out about it what a ridiculous argument

Also you’re saying Jesus totally disagreed with god and what’s written in the Bible ?

@Joeseph can I just say I love how you call it the bile. It's fitting. Even if you think being gay is a sin you can still be a gay Christian. All Christians have sin. A serial rapist murderer can be a Christian if they want to be.
  • JoesephJoeseph 655 Pts   -
    @WordsMatter

Thanks for that and as you know I'm an atheist and I've no problem with people believing in a god , the problem I have is the way christians all reinterpret gods words to suit their particular lives

I was a Roman Catholic a long time ago and homosexuality was branded a mortal sin , I would at least expect Christians to be consistent with what it actually says in the bible instead of what suits them
  • YeshuaBoughtYeshuaBought 669 Pts   -
@Joeseph You are welcome. I am sorry for going hard on you, but as you know, extremists in many religious persauasions or lack thereof are hijacking their respective movements. I am effed if my church finds out I am bisexual and have no intention of trying to go straight because I already tried, and it does not work.

No worries , it's all good and I wish you happiness and well being , I often wonder why believers just don't believe in their particular god as in a god for all with no need of all these bizzare sacred books and rituals

@Joeseph Thanks hun. I love the Bible because it talks about Jesus, who died for all to repent and be saved. JMO. I do resent religious extremists who hijack their religions. I am sure Muslims who are progressive know how I feel.

@Joeseph I wholeheartedly agree. I was once a Christian too, I quit believing right before confirmation, but still got confirmed just to not create a controversy, and hey now I've got a picture with a pedophile apologist.

Particularly around the lgbt community I can't stand the majority of Christian views and excuses in this country. You don't want to make a cake for a gay wedding or a gender change party? Ok but you better not make cakes for anyone who breaks any commandments whatsoever, and in the case of gender change the bible doesn't even say anything on that but the excuse is "but God made you how you should be and you're wrong for changing it" are these bakers checking to make sure no one got plastic surgery or any kind of medical intervention such as cochlear implants in a deaf person? If not then it's not religious freedom it's just bigotry.

Apologies posted on the wrong topic and it won’t let me delete for some reason

A study from Psychology today that can be read and examined by all is posted below with links it’s findings are pretty damning for believers .

Christians have higher crime rates , domestic violence rates

The top 50 safest cities in the world are relatively non religious

Christians in American prisons outnumber atheists considerably

    Atheists have lower divorce rates

Christians engage in more unprotected sex

Secular nations have higher happiness rates

Secular nations give more to poorer nations

    From Psychology today

An article, by Phil Zuckerman of Pitzer College, is entitled "Atheism, Secularity, and Well-Being: How the Findings of Social Science Counter Negative Stereotypes and Assumptions"

Zuckerman analyzed a wide array of data comparing religious nations to less religious nations and also, interestingly, religious states within the United States (i.e. "Bible-belt" states) to less religious states. While I encourage readers to examine the article directly through the link above, here are just a few of the highlights:Criminal Behavior:

Citing four different studies, Zuckerman states: "Murder rates are actually lower in more secular nations and higher in more religious nations where belief in God is widespread." He also states: "Of the top 50 safest cities in the world, nearly all are in relatively non-religious countries."

Within the United States, we see the same pattern. Citing census data, he writes: "And within America, the states with the highest murder rates tend to be the highly religious, such as Louisiana and Alabama, but the states with the lowest murder rates tend to be the among the least religious in the country, such as Vermont and Oregon."

And these findings are not limited to murder rates, as rates of all violent crime tend to be higher in "religious" states. Zuckerman also points out that atheists are very much under-represented in the American prison population (only 0.2%).

    Marriage and Family:

Zuckerman cites a 1999 Barna study that finds that atheists and agnostics actually have lower divorce rates than religious Americans.

He also cites another study, in Canada, that found conservative Christian women experienced higher rates of domestic violence than non-affiliated women.

    Unprotected Sex:

As for Plante's claim that studies have "consistently " found that religious people are less likely to engage in unprotected sex, that claim is directly refuted by a 2009 study that found the reverse - teens who make religion-inspired "virginity pledges" are not only just as likely as their non-pledging peers to engage in premarital sex, but more likely to engage in unprotected sex.

Happiness: The most secular nations in the world report the highest levels of happiness among their population.

Altruism: Secular nations such as those in Scandinavia donate the most money and supportive aid, per capita, to poorer nations. Zuckerman also reports that two studies show that, during the Holocaust, "the more secular people were, the more likely they were to rescue and help persecuted Jews."

Outlooks and Values: Zuckerman, citing numerous studies, shows that atheists and agnostics, when compared to religious people, are actually less likely to be nationalistic, racist, anti-Semitic, dogmatic, ethnocentric, and authoritarian. Secularism also correlates to higher education levels. Atheists and other secular people are also much more likely to support women's rights and gender equality, as well as gay and lesbian rights. Religious individuals are more likely to support government use of torture.

Hi W , you sound like me as a kid I made my communion and confirmation just to be like the others , but I got to the stage I couldn’t listen to the nonsense spouted by priests and the religious any longer as it was an insult to intelligence .

Imagine there is a god who is indeed all powerful and his brilliant plan is to come to earth to impregnate a Palestinian virgin so she can give birth to him , so he can be born to die on a cross for our sins we have not yet committed because we are not born  , so that he can be born to reign over us and pronounce judgement on us for the sins he said he was dying on a cross for in the first place ???? Honestly I would expect a more brilliant plan from an all powerful god .

Incidentally where I’m from people mostly believe in a god but are really cool and laid back about it and religion is rarely talked about , I’ve lived in the U S and found the people and country to be wonderful the only thing that really  scared me was the religious and how throughly aggressive and in your face religion was , it always amuses me that American hardline fundies have this all American vision of a modern gun carrying Jesus who would resist giving the needy free housing , social welfare and medical care all the stuff I’m guaranteed in my country and I’m an atheist , to me that is truly amusing

@Joeseph so true. If Jesus came back he would be one of the biggest socialists ever.

It's funny that the thing that really broke Christianity for me, after I had been questioning it for a while, was reading an ancient Egyptian text that was exactly the same as the story of Jesus. The overall plot of the bible was just plagiarized from even older religious texts.

Yes indeed a long haired socialist who would say “No guns , feed the hungry , shelter the poor and care for the sick “ ......wait he said that already all except the gun part , of course most believers ignore everything he ever said as I don’t think most really believe otherwise they would act accordingly

I agree about the bile being plagarised a history teacher and research convinced me of this but a comfortable lie is better than a hard truth for most believers
  • Gays can not be christian, they are an abomination unto the lord. technically, they can be, however, they have no chance of eternal life, as said in Leviticus 20:13- a man who lays with another man as he would a wife, shall be put to death, as he is an abomination onto the lord. however, as long as you have never had sex with the same sex, i believe you are not considered gay, and an abomination, however, the only unforgivable sin is blasphemy of the holy ghost, so as long as they repented, and turned away from homosexuality, i believe they can go to heaven, if they have the holy ghost, and are baptised in the name of jesus

Yes, but they can't be in active same sex relationships. That is no less sinful than any other form of fornication. To many people try to water down the Gospel messages to fit with today's trends, but they're missing the point. We Christians should really be stopping to ask ourselves whether we worship God or the trends of the world.
  • WordsMatterWordsMatter 493 Pts   -
@JesusFreak2002 but murderers can be Christians and go to heaven? Catholic priests actively go to death row inmates to get them to just say they accept Jesus as their savior and then they will be saved regardless of even the most heinous of crimes. But somehow two guys having sex eternally damns them forever with no possibility of salvation all because of a single verse in the old testament? Is everyone with a tattoo damned forever as well, because the old testament has a single verse against that too?

@Nathaniel_B It is not a sin to be tempted, and i belong to Jesus. Don't just tell me I am wrong. Prove it!
