Is the US today headed for Russia 1917?

Debate Information

I know we are not there yet, but are we getting dangerously close to a civil war/revolution?   We have so much anger and finger pointing, people seem completely divided and unable to compromise on even small things.  The sides are clearly divided.  Is it as bad as it seems?  Or is it being inflated by the extremists?  Even if it is only the extremist, extremist have started wars before sweeping the rest of the country with it.

Civil Wars do not start over arguments on online forums or TV channels. Civil Wars start when people are so afraid for tomorrow, that their fear of dying in a war is smaller than their fear of what happens otherwise.

Aside from some heated arguments arising, nothing has changed significantly in the US over the last few years. People work their jobs, they play video games, they take vacations to travel around the country, they buy cars and houses. These are not fertile grounds for any sort of uprising.

In Russia in 1917, it was not about division; it was about the fact that 99% people had nothing to eat, and different political groups offered different solutions to the problem. Some people believed Leninists would be their salvation, while others thought (and turned out to be right) that Leninists would only worsen the crisis.

You would be better off comparing the situation to that in the US pre-1861. But even there it was not as much about political disagreements, as about the fact that two principally different economical and social models coexisted inside one country, and one had to eventually win over the other. We do not have that in the US currently: sure, different states have different legal systems - but the fundamentals are the same everywhere.

I would argue that it has gone beyond fights on facebook, but I take your point.
So what if you add hunger to the mix?  Regardless of what is to blame, our climate is changing.  Such changes could create famine, or our we technologically advanced enough to protect ourselves from the worst of it.

Russia went from a monarchy to communist state. America went from monarch to a Constitutional Republic held by united state of both basic principle in a union with legal precedent. America in honesty can not make the change that Russia had experienced in 1917 at this point in history. The way the United State Constitution has been abused it's Civil War's are structured more like Cold War.

I am unsure of this statement as whole truth; I agree that the people had been in need of food but unsure if they had been denied food as part of a labor demonstration in which food was left to rot in the fields. So, Russia in 1917 was all about division, so much so that as soon as the Royal family was liquidated, not exiled. A series of enslavements took place for the creation of public labor camps to be formed. Self-incriminating the governing powers becoming the state of business for its process of unregulated justice by communist dictatorship in a political party forum.

please keep in mind the moment the communist party undertook the liquidation of The Royal Family it abandon all chance of representation to act as a common defense in posterity for its action against United State Constitution. Honor is a united state which is independent and learned by the people, for the people.
