Should horsback riding be considered a sport?

Debate Information

I believe that horseback riding is definetly a sport. We equestrians have to control a 1000 Ibs animal with our legs, hands and voice. There are no guarenteed brakes, acceleration, or cooperation. You are putting your life in the hands of an animal that could kill you with one wrong move, one wrong step.

I believe horseriding should be considered a sport because it involves health activity, fitness activity and injury risks.
