    @TKDB , you are doing this all wrong.

    Make a sports style bracket of individuals.people/sources and try again.

    @CYDdharta I think people would actually take this seriously then, just collect votes for each person for each round over the course of a week.

    @TKDB No, seriously make a bracket. If you split up the first two into specific news outlets you can easily have 32 names on there to make a bracket.

    Then you would make 4 posts where people would vote on each person in each "game" and whoever has the most votes wins. Each set of policies, institutions, or individuals will compete for the title of the most divisive in US history!

    Who will come out ahead? Who will claim the title? You decide?

    @TKDB ; There is no more divisive entity in America than the Globalist-elitist-Progressive Socialists i.e. the Democrat Party and their propaganda machine i.e. the mainstream media whores...a conglomeration of demons, fools, idiots, sexual perverts, liars-atheists, socialists-communists-traitors, the mentally and spiritually ill.

    I think both sides are divisive. In my opinion, the left-right paradigm, presents a false dichotomy.

    @RickeyD The divisiveness and hate should stop, we should all get along.

  • MayCaesarMayCaesar 6020 Pts   -   edited January 2020
    Nothing is divisive in itself, just like nothing is offensive in itself - but something can lead to division if people allow it, just like something can lead to offence if people allow it.

    My perspective of someone who has come from a country where people disagreeing with each other typically threaten each other with murder may differ, but I do not see the US society as divided in any significant way. Different people have different political and social views, but overall people get along very well. I see the same smiles from strangers on the streets as I did 6 years ago when I moved here, I see the same compliments people at stores make on my vibrant outfit, etc. People who believe that the US society is significantly divided probably have not lived anywhere else, but trust me: with rare exceptions such as extremely collectivist (in a good way) societies like those existing in Japan or South Korea, almost all societies are much more divided than the American society. Almost all Americans agree on basics: that it is good to treat strangers in a friendly way, that the individual must be more or less free, that it is wrong to discriminate against someone based on things they cannot change... You rarely find such a unanimous agreement on basic things anywhere else.

    I am also tipsy, so my optimism may be higher than usual - and my grammar worse than usual.

    The most dangerous and people most deserving of criticism are individuals and groups that want to limit ideas and grant abundance of power to the government.  These groups want their idealogy forced onto others and want authority over the general populace...Antifa, any white supremacist group, radicals on either side.

    In referring to wealthy individuals.
    " We dont want your money, we want your power" -AOC.

    Dont give up your freedoms becuase they take more responsibility.

    I heard about her comment on Youtube. I don't agree with big government, in either Party. I do support some centralized government, but think both Parties take it too far. I don't think the government has any rights at all, because it is a collective, and not an individual.
  • MichaelElpersMichaelElpers 1121 Pts   -
    @YeshuaBought

    In general though leftists are the ones that support big government and granting them more power over the people.

    These people are the most devisive because their division limits opposition by force.

    Both sides, support big government, but you have the right to your opinion.

    @YeshuaBought. Please tell me the policies that conservatives or libertarians want that support big gov.  Prolife is about the only one i can think of.
  • MayCaesarMayCaesar 6020 Pts   -
    @MichaelElpers

    I am not sure about conservatives, but Republicans nowadays promote tariffs (expansion of foreign trade control), harsh immigration laws (expansion of freedom of movement control), large military budget (expansion of the military sector), increased subsidies to companies in rural areas (expansion of the influence on the private sector), increased surveillance and intelligence services funding (expansion of governmental interference with people's privacy) and a few other things.

    The Democratic party may be the big government party, but the Republican party is not much to write home about either. As for the Libertarian party, it seems to be mostly a joke party, with people too focused on abstract ideological debates to seriously hope to win anything. Which is unfortunate, as their platform is actually quite solid, resembling that of the Founding Fathers, with corrections to the societal development of the last couple of centuries.

    I never said anything about libertarians, so don't lie. Telling an untruth makes you a . Conservatives support big government in the sense that they want to violate even a rape victim's right to choose an abortion, and that is way too much government.
  • MichaelElpersMichaelElpers 1121 Pts   -
    @YeshuaBought. I was justing including libertarians as a side, saying conservatives and libertarians dont support the big gov leftists do.  Also i said name one other than abortion.
