What do the words of Jesus really mean?
in Religion

By DeeDee 2364 Pts
Atheists seem to get everything out of context when quoting the words of Jesus some examples follow ......

Matthew 26:52

Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword.

The foolish Atheist doesn’t seem to realise what Jesus really meant was “ Americans arm yourselves to the teeth “

Matthew 25:35-45

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ ...

Again the Atheist takes this out of context what Jesus really means is “ Do not feed the hungry , build a wall and under no circumstances give free healthcare or eduction “

The Atheist must realise that context is vital

Jeremiah 22:3

The Lord proclaims: Do what is just and right; rescue the oppressed from the power of the oppressor. Don’t exploit or mistreat the refugee, the orphan, and the widow. Don’t spill the blood of the innocent in this place.

Again this is Jesus clearly saying build a wall unless you need a cheap Mexican gardener or cheap labour

Atheists are dreadful the way they keep giving Jesus credit for things he obviously didn’t mean

The Words of Jesus, apparently mean different things to any Atheist, and to any Religious individual.

Being that his message, or his words, are completely voluntary to indulge in.

If his words aren't infringing on any individuals way of life, then how could they be viewed as harmful?

But if his words bring any individual, "peace of mind," then what's wrong if an individual indulges in them, if they aren't harmful?
  • DeeDee 2364 Pts

**** If his words aren't infringing on any individuals way of life, then how could they be viewed as harmful?

Where did I say the words from Jesus in my piece above were harmful? I said the total opposite are you on the booze again?
  • @Dee ; It is the atheist that is willfully ignorant of God and God's will that motivates them to embarrass them self in public forums when they are blinded by their father, Satan, and cannot understand the things of God.

  • @RickeyD You more or less just made everything that Dee is saying credible by not saying anything against it. Now it looks like you actually do think that the things he said are right.

    Dee
At some point in the distant past, the universe went through a phase of cosmic inflation,
Stars formed, planets coalesced, and on at least one of them life took root.
Through a long process of evolution this life
    developed into the human race.
Humans conquered fire, built complex societies and advanced technology .

All of that so we can argue about nothing.

@Dee, are you making booze, an add on conversation piece, to go along with this forum?

@Dee ; @Happy_Killbot    Your motives are suspect... Dee, your insincerity and hypocrisy are off-the-chart. Your motives are suspect and you defile your intent when you are the one who advocates for the mutilation of babies in the womb and socialism. Tell me, how can I take your facade of compassion for the illegal immigrant seriously when you advocate for the mutilation of our most innocent in the womb and you fight for socialism-Leninism that has murdered 100-million people in the last Century? You support unconscionable sexual perversion that is destroying the youth of our Nation...yet you hypocritically pretend to care about the illegal immigrant and the hungry. You're an atheistic hypocrite, Dee, but I understand you're too demonically numb to comprehend this truism. Have a nice day!

    1) In Matthew 26:52 Jesus proclaims that the use of force unlawfully or without cause will manifest in a scenario where both the offender and the victim suffer. You fail to consider the words of Jesus concerning the right to protection and the Christian's obligation to fight for Truth and the Gospel and the right to self-preservation/life...

    Jesus commanded His followers...

"Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one."  Luke 22:36 (KJV) Jesus was pro-carry/self-defense.

Please study in context as you mock yourself with your own words.

    2) In Matthew 25, Jesus is NOT advocating for welfare, secure borders, feeding the illegal immigrant. Jesus is differentiating those who have abiding faith in Him as Lord and authenticate that faith by honoring the 2nd-Greatest Commandment which is to love your neighbor as yourself.

Where you mock yourself, Dee, is that you don't understand the context or the audience.

If you understood the necessity of secure borders in Scripture, both in the Hebrew and Greek Scriptures, you would understand that God advocates for secure borders, secure walls and natural barriers and permission by authorities to trespass and sojourn in another Nation's territory. How many times was Israel denied entry to cross specific lands as they sojourned and traveled to the Promised Land? Have you visited the Middle East, Dee? Have you seen the walls and barriers erected to secure Nations and peoples throughout the land? Have you been to Jerusalem, the Gaza?

Scripture commands obedience to the rule of law, Dee...that includes immigration laws as well.

Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.

6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.  Romans 13:1-7 (NIV)

Even Heaven itself is surrounded by a magnificent Wall and EXTREME VETTING is mandated for entrance. Yes?

If you're truly interested in Biblical immigration and the misuse of the Bible in the immigration debate, please read the work of this Hebrew scholar: https://cis.org/Use-and-Abuse-Bible-Immigration-Debate

    3) In Jeremiah 22 our Lord is not suggesting that borders and National security be compromised but only that those deserving respect and honor and protection receive same as my Lord is a God of love, compassion and provision and cares for the orphan, the widow, the needy. In that same vein, remember the Scriptures do not advocate for socialism or welfare but for a work-ethic and dignity.

"If anyone does not work, he should not eat."  2 Thessalonians 3:10

I bet you refuse to answer
  • DeeDee 2364 Pts
    @RickeyD

Absolutely hilarious you’re using the Bible to criticise the words of Jesus and you totally agree as I stated with building a wall , carrying a gun and denying the poor , food , shelter , education and medicine .......You worship the American Jesus as invented by Republicans ........
  • @RickeyD Would you mind then, declassifying all the contradictions you dig up yourself?

I can see that ever single one of the Scriptures you bring up contradicts something else in the bible.

The bible is a mockery of a consistent literary piece, if it takes 5,000 books to justify one, then it is not a reliable source, but the theist in his dishonorable plea against reality will always fill the void with rationalizations and will employ every cognitive fallacy to aid themselves in their indignant struggle against reality.

Will any Religion loose it's own identity at all, in the light of your non Religious musings?
  • DeeDee 2364 Pts
  • @Dee ; LGBTQ is sin and unless the participant repents of sin and sincerely, diligently, seeks Jesus Christ as their Lord and Mediator for that sin they will surely die in sin and lose their soul in Hell. Homosexuality-Lesbianism is a sin against God's Covenant of Marriage as established in the Genesis and reiterated in Mark's Gospel...one-man/one-woman becoming one-flesh for life.

  • @Dee @TKDB ; If one identifies as a born again Christian yet compromises with what the Holy Spirit has deemed as sin, whether by omission-commission or advocacy, that person should concern them self with their actual relationship with our Lord. Both the Covenant of Law and the Covenant of Grace clearly articulate the truism that homosexuality is a sin and its practice violates the Covenant of Marriage as established by our Creator in the Genesis and reiterated in the Covenant of Grace. Is it impossible to be a Christian and support same-sex unions???...that's between the person so advocating and the Holy Spirit. I will say that if one's advocacy for same-sex unions extends to the level of participation in the wilful sin, that person does NOT know God the Father, Jesus Christ as Lord nor does that person possess the indwelling Holy Spirit. Anyone that confesses Christ as Lord and can live in wilful sin without repentance most likely does not have abiding faith in our true and living God and they do not possess the indwelling Holy Spirit.

"For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,"  Hebrews 10:26

"Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. ..."  1 John 3:4-10

As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile, knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, ...  1 Peter 1:14-22

It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not tolerated even among pagans, for a man has his father's wife. And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you. For though absent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing. When you are assembled in the name of the Lord Jesus and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus, you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord. ...1 Corinthians 5:1-13

What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. ...  Romans 6:1-23
