Politicians don't tell the truth to the public

It's unlikely you've "observed" as much as I have. I've lived through 14 Presidents, and, though I agree there are some things every one of them kept from U.S., they were ALL honest MOST of the time …. until now. This one doesn't even recognize the truth. The truth is whatever he thinks it is.
 There have been a few below the Presidential level that were decidedly dishonest, most of them didn't last long, or became dishonest in their last years. I have more faith in my country than some, I didn't lose it until Dubya lied about "weapons of mass destruction" and Moscow Mitch came along. Reagan lied about Iran Contra, Nixon about Watergate, but, I still had faith in our system. Now, though, our whole legal system is under attack, our whole intelligence system! I hope I live to see some semblance of a return to our democracy … and trust. It will not happen unless the next election brings a change, because THIS politician AND his "loyalists" will not ALLOW the "truth" to interfere with their agenda.

I think the Democratic politician (can't remember his name) who ran on a strong stance on 2nd admendment rights then immediately after being elected stated to reporters that he changed his mind about his views on gun rights.  So was he lying while running for office?  Of course he was.

It is a common practice of many politcians to lie, especially during their campaigns.  Unfortunately, there are really no way to tell with new incoming politicians.  As for politicians that have been around for awhile it is our responsibility to do our own due diligence to check their records and see what they really are about.
