Unintelligent Design

Debate Information

Let's face it. There is no way in the world that man could ever have been created.

The human body is a complete mish-mash of convoluted, haphazard conduits and organs that somehow just manage to (sort of) perform their functions.
For example, look at the human eye. Who doesn't have some sort of visual impairment? The "design" is poor, to put it mildly. The little mantis shrimp has far superior eyesight by comparison. It has 16 colour receptors (a human has 3; red, green, blue), it can detect circular polarised light (we would have to wear 6x pairs of Ray Ban P sunglasses to achieve the same). The visual field of the human eye is 120 degrees, the Mantis eye has more than double that.
Another amazing attribute of the Mantis is that it's arm has the explosive force of a .22 calibre bullet. It has been known for a Mantis to smash the glass of an aquarium. A human would be lucky to punch through a plaster wall.

So, why would a creator give humans capabilities that are definitely bottom-shelf compared with other animals, even our pet dogs have a sense of smell 100 times better than ours. Here's a bit of an insight as to what a human would actually be if it really were intelligently designed:

The eyes: God (for the sake of argument, let's call the creator God) would no doubt go to a Company such as Nikon to design lenses with 360 degrees field of view with precision polarised, wide-aperture lens elements and sensors with a 16.7 million colour palate.
The brain: Intel would be given the contract to design a brain with far greater memory capacity and processing speed than our current giant blob of grey matter. The processor could be instantly programmed with information and could be replaced if faulty. Already, there are computers which are surpassing the brain's capability and robots that can psycho-analyse people.
Limbs: Oscar Pestorius has an artificial leg which was far superior to a biological piece of meat and bone and he competed with fully-abled athletes rather than Paralympians. A designer would surely make limbs from titanium with carbon-fibre shells, micro-servo motors and integrated circuitry instead of bulky, unreliable bones and muscles.
Organs: What a bleeding joke the heart is. It is so unreliable and second rate and the valves are primitive. A high-tech pump company can manufacture far superior mechanisms. As for the rest of our organs; huh, the appendix, gall bladder and appendix don't do anything at all except rot and cause problems.

Believe me (well, if you are a theist, you would believe anything anyway), the world would look a heck of a lot different if it were indeed intelligently designed.
