OK, so now you have taken the step to give up religion.
You've broken the shackles, burnt your bridges and look forward to living a new life full of fun, excitement, and adventure.
Psychologists have told us that when quitting a bad habit one must fill the resulting "void" with a new, better habit. Now, I'm not suggesting that you take up smoking, gambling or substance abuse, that would be like jumping from the fire into the pan.
I'm talking about taking up a new beneficial habit, one that helps us move forward in this wonderful thing called life.
Whilst joining the Taylor Swift official fan club may be a step in the right direction (and Taylor certainly looks a lot better than a hippie-looking unemployed part-time carpenter/fisherman) you would want to take up something with a bit more substance and meaning to it.
My suggestion is, to join a sports club. You don't necessarily need to be a player but there are many things you can help with, e.g. raising funds or organising junior events. You get to be part of a positive social atmosphere and have a sense of belonging.
What worthwhile habit would you take up in place of religion?
