Is Christianity A Matter Of Conscience?

Nazism and Christianity are inextricably linked and not only because they are doctrines with many similarities but also because they have supported each other.
Both started off as being for the good of the people, for example, the Nazis campaigned for the return of territories unfairly taken from Germany after World War 1. Also, Hitler commissioned Ferdinand Porsche to design an affordable car for everyone, hence the Volkswagen. By comparison, Christianity promoted the concept of a righteous way of life for its followers.
Hitler was an autocratic dictator, so is God.
Both have started wars although Hitler started only one.
Both are anti-Semitic. Although there have been no atrocities like the Holocaust by Christians in recent times it would be unlikely to see a priest and a rabbi skipping hand in hand down the street.
Both use fear and guilt to promote their agendas. With the Nazis, it is the fear of incarceration and the guilt of not supporting the homeland. With Christianity, it is the fear of going to hell and the guilt of not being with loved ones in heaven.
It was the (Catholic) church that actively promoted and financially sponsored the Nazi party.
Hitler was a devout (Catholic) Christian who claimed in Mein Kampf and in public speeches that the Jews were the anti-Christ. He also proclaimed that God advised him to invade Poland.
Why would any sane, level-headed, moderate thinking person want to identify themselves with either doctrine?
