This is just for fun. Taking things seriously is not desired nor required.
The presidential debates will be kicking off in a few weeks, but why not give things a dry run first just to see how
well hilarious things could actually go?
The rules are simple:We will each take turns as the debate host, and all other participants will respond as the candidate.
Responses will be a quote made by any of the candidates in the running, and contain a source as proof from a video, news site, or tweet. Anything that is on the record as something they said is fair game. Once at least one response was made for each candidate the next person will have their turn as the host.
If you are interested in participating, hit one of the buttons bellow to mark this argument. I will take the first round as host, subsequent turns will be in the order of acceptance marks. If it is your turn and you have not posted a general question, I will send you a PM as a notification.
Additional Rules1. Ensure to provide the exact quote in your response. You may string together different quotes, or provide more than one for a maximum of 3 as long as they are from the same candidate.
2. The host may only ask one question per turn. If you are the host, you can not answer your own question. Ensure to mark that this is a host question at the top of your comment with the words:
"Host Question" In bold, or as a heading.
3. If you are posting from a news article or a tweet, copy/paste the relevant quote for consistency then provide a link or screenshot to the appropriate source.
4. If you are posting a video, make sure to provide Start and Stop time stamps for the relative response quote. If it is from a YouTube video, you can get the automatically-generated transcript to copy/paste the quote from into your comment by following the directions here:
https://ccm.net/faq/40644-how-to-get-the-transcript-of-a-youtube-video
5. If your source is a direct image or screenshot such as from twitter, then there is no need to provide a redundant quote provided the source is in the image.
6. Memes which contain text must be verified from an additional source. This can be a video, news article, or tweet as per the above rules. Memes/pictures without text meant to set the tone or as a stand in for the candidates physical response is allowed, but a quote and source must be present to be a valid response.
7. More than one response from each candidate is allowed per round, but they must be from different participants.
8. Have fun! The candidates have said some really funny things, and debate answers tend to ramble IRL so it's okay if your posted response doesn't quite answer the question reasonably or sufficiently.
