Fact: Atheists Have Higher IQs Than Theists

I have noticed a bit of consternation from some, that challenge this fact so, I thought I would clarify the situation from a standpoint of exposing some of the symptoms in order that we can look at some remedies to the situation.

There have been many authoritative papers published, all coming to the same conclusion, namely that theists have lower IQs than atheists. These studies are finite, i.e., they don't lie since they depend on reliable statistics. So here we are accepting the fact: atheists have higher IQs than theists. But why?

There are a numerous varied reasons that come into play, for example, Psychology Today cites geography and economics as being a significant factor. The most religious countries are poorer, they are less urbanized, have lower levels of education, have less exposure to electronic media that increase intelligence, experience a heavier load of infectious diseases that impair brain function, suffer more from low birth weights, have worse child nutrition, do a poor job of controlling environmental pollutants such as lead that reduce IQ.

"Most extant explanations (of a negative relation) share one central theme - the premise that religious beliefs are irrational, not anchored in science, not testable and, therefore, unappealing to intelligent people who know better".

Some sub-reports tend to suggest that those who live in highly religious countries are deprived of educational texts in favour of religious texts.

Nevertheless, we do know the fact: atheists have higher IQs than theists. There have been numerous studies and hypotheses as to why, but should we not extend our inquisitiveness and sense of humanity and discuss: What can we do about it?
