Not saying I support communism. I want to get it clear, I am a democratic socialist.
As Karl Marx said, ‘religion is the opium of the people.’
And Karl Marx was a bit of an anal retentive, drunken, loud mouthed di**head anyway. Nevertheless, the works of Marx and the Bible are frighteningly similar in that, in each case, a bunch of unscrupulous r-souls used the texts to create a totalitarian way for the common people to abide by. Lennin and Stalin knew very well that communism was just as much the opium of the people as religion.
