Volunteer Opportunity

POWAN Initiative is a globally leading 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is revolutionizing education by providing the first and only free, live, and personalized online education experience to K-12 students for a variety of topics, academic and personal. 

The POWAN Initiative is looking for dedicated volunteer tutors to join our growing team. We are a nonprofit that provides free, live, and personalized virtual tutoring/mentoring to K-12 students all around the world. We can provide letters of rec and volunteer hour certifications. This position is a great way to gain experience working with K-12 students and to sharpen your communication skills. Pay is possible through tips. Note that this role is a remote role. Qualifications

• Prior experience with tutoring/mentoring
• Positive attitude
• Familiar with virtual meeting platforms (e.g. Zoom)
• Reliable internet access
• Knowledge of another language is a plus

Work Description

• Tutor/mentor students according to your schedule
• Minimum to tutor: 1 student (1 hr/week)
• Communicate with admin team about tutoring session progress
