I'm talking about the terms "Theist" and "Atheist" here.
We can accept that when religion reigned (literally) supreme throughout civilised society, being a theist was considered as being the norm whilst any dissenter who goes "anti" the norm was labelled an "atheist".
Modern, Western, civilised society is governed by secular governments and the neutral position or "norm" is that we are non-religious.
Therefore, would it not be more appropriate to elevate terminology to the next level by calling those without religion as say, "normal" and those who do choose religion above and beyond the norm as being ab........Oh, maybe that would not work but perhaps you may like to think of terms for atheist and theist that would better reflect the new, current order of society.
