The US must do business with the Taliban or risk no longer being an economic/technological giant.

Gold, platinum, silver, uranium, lithium, they've got it all. Afghanistan is home to vast mines with precious metals. But of course, the only one that ever gets any attention nowadays are REE (rare earth elements). Ya, the Taliban are sitting on rare earth mineral mines with an estimated worth of 3 trillion. Many analysts believe Afghanistan could surpass Saudi Arabia as a global economic power if they were to take advantage of those assets. And only hours after the last US military personnel left Afghanistan, China gave the Taliban a call. I feel it could be a disastrous economic misstep for the US to not create economic business relations with the Taliban. It could also potentially be a bad national defense policy to allow a former enemy become extremely wealthy and not have an economic presence in that wealth.
