I believe we should.
The great divide between the richest and the poorest in this world seems to be growing day by day and there are so many people who are literally born with very little or no hope of ever living a decent life.
These hapless people should be given the opportunity by being taught or informed that there is a better way of life and that there is light at the end of the tunnel for them.
We can't all be missionaries but those of us who cannot take up the call can support and take part in organizations that do spread the good word. For example, the Richard Dawkins Foundation and the Center for Enquiry in the USA have merged to become an even more effective conduit for delivering the message of hope throughout the world. "The Center for Inquiry strives to foster a secular society based on reason, science, freedom of inquiry, and humanist values" and now, bolstered by the ethics and humanitarian values of a high profile leader such as Dawkins it can possibly be more effective in going into troubled areas of the world that are torn apart by religious wars where the people are raised to believe that it is noble to be poor and impoverished. They can be taught that there is salvation in the form of atheism and that they can aspire to living better lives without the fear, loathing, doom and gloom that religion has instilled in them.
