Neither major US party supports private property rights. Both major parties support the federal government's ability to use eminent domain to take private property and repurpose it for public use. Neither major party supports private businesses rights to pay their employees what they want, and fire their employees for any or no reason at all, or a businesses right to deny anybody services. Both major parties believe in the use of protectionist policies of trade, even if it places an economic burden on consumers. Both major parties have dismal records regarding freedom of expression, and push for social justice policies over the objective legality of the US constitution. Republicans support massive military budgets, while democrats support massive social program budgets. Both of those policies are derived from a collectivist ideal, and in the end, no matter the outcome of those policies, it means less money for taxpayers, and all for the sake of so called "national interest".
From the standpoint of a devout classical liberal who embraces the principles and values of the constitution, neither major US party are aligned with said values. From this point of view, it is conceivable that both major parties can be considered enemies of the state.
Before we start, I challenge every person on this post to not use the phrase "<such and such> party may not be perfect, but.....". Be advised, the use of that kind of argument will only cause the person who uses it to be delushed with a swirling torrent of devastating discrediting objective truths.
