What is scarier? The Ocean? Or space.

This is not a normal debate that i post, but I was just thinking about how the ocean is a very scary place the deeper you go, having only discovered 5 percent of the ocean. But we have a threat around 724 light years away (5.8786254 x 10^12 Miles) being the star Betelgeuse that is blinking in and out, showing it will die soon. For those of you who do not know, most of these stars when they die turn into red giants, white dwarfs, or they go supernova, which is an explosion that, from the distance in which that star is at, could very well end life on earth. I would not want to go into the ocean, but i sure as will not go into space. Whats your thought? Whats scarier to you? This is not one to try and persuade, but to share thoughts and opinons on what they think on the question.
