Should the U.S. and the allied countries impose sanctions toward Russia ?

Argument Topic: Response to the opinion by Sonofason.

I thank Sonofason for giving your opinion. I believe the assassination of Putin is not reasonable and acceptable. 
The most urgent task which the U.S. and EU countries should do is to return  Eastern European counties once  controlled and dominated by Russia during the Cold War years into sphere of influence and governance of  Russia again. 
This might cause Cold War in the 21 century once again. However, I believe this contributes to keeping security and peace not only in Europe but in the world. It seems to me this is what Putin is most expecting to happen and to be realized.

They have already imposed sanctions but they are not working. Have Putin withdrawal his forces? No. The days of Geoeconomics have gone. The hot war days are again here.
