As we all (should) know, by adding two and two, we get four. There is no other answer, and mathematics is pure truth. We cannot ever get two plus two to equal anything else can we?
Similarly, the laws of nature are definitive, nature and science are pure truth. An atom of sodium chemically bonded with an atom of chlorine makes salt, it is definitive, it is an indisputable fact that can't be changed can it?
We use the indisputable laws of nature and science to determine that the universe is over thirteen billion years old, that is a fact and will never change or successfully challenged, or will it?
