The right to live or die will always be a contentious issue and there will never be a right or wrong answer however each society has a duty to its own people at large to legislate accordingly.
I'm sorry but your argument that personhood as you see it is a secular view but fetal personhood must be religious is ridiculous.Fetal personhood may well be a view that is held by those of religion however that does not make it exclusively a religious view, it is a view held by many who would not even go near a church with a barge pole. it is just that religiously inclined people hold their view for no other reason than "it is written" which is certainly not helpful in any debate.
