Right now, there is a serious cost of living crisis in the UK. Wages have not gone up significantly but prices have gone up significantly. The pound is now at the same value as the US dollar. Some people are saying that the war in the East with Ukraine and Russia is only a marginal impact on our economy and thus they say our government is using this as an excuse. The fact is we only used to take a small percentage of supplies from Russian soil anyway. Plus, we got the north sea oil to use as well when things get tough. I do think it's safe to say though that the UK is in a serious recession, and one far greater than anyone in recent decades. Covid of course had a huge impact on the economy of the UK but something still tells me that perhaps the biggest blow to our economy was Brexit. In fact, there are things coming true that economists predicted exactly would happen if the UK left the EU. What do you think?
