Should America Have Troops In Syria?

Debate Information

The US has been involved in Syria since the beginning of the Syrian civil war in 2011. The US initially provided humanitarian aid to the Syrian people, but in 2014, the US began airstrikes against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Syria. The US also began training and arming Syrian rebels to fight against ISIS.

The US has stated that its goals in Syria are to defeat ISIS, prevent the use of chemical weapons, and promote a political solution to the Syrian civil war. However, the US's involvement in Syria has been controversial. Some critics argue that the US is not doing enough to help the Syrian people, while others argue that the US is not doing enough to prevent ISIS from regaining its strength.

The US has about 900 troops in Syria. The US troops are primarily located in the northeast part of the country, where they are working with Syrian rebels to fight against ISIS. The US troops are also providing training and support to the Syrian military.

The US's involvement in Syria is likely to continue for the foreseeable future. The US has stated that it will not withdraw its troops from Syria until ISIS is defeated and a political solution to the Syrian civil war is found.

@JulesKorngold The difficult point is that the US is chasing its tale a round because look at what those rag head terrorists do. What they do is re group in any country that’s week so that they can bully the people a round and take over the government and when the US comes they leave because they will only fight on winning sides so the US has to clean up the mess and put in a government that’s going to bully the people a round and then a round it goes a gain.

I would like to start this debate with a question?
What are we to believe are the reasons why there are no other Nations who rent to hold Armed Service Bases in America?

No. This way of trying to convert wastly different cultures to adopt democracy simply does not work and comes of as Neo Imperialism basically "If you do not have our systems we will wage war on you"

    Hello Jules:

No..  Those goals are simply unattainable with a bare bones contingent of 900 troops.  All they are is targets.

Sorry, my question is not clear, what is the reason Russia, Turkey, and Iran rent land to have forces stay in Syria?
