No, the HUD is very important.

Are these real cuts to HUD's budget, or cuts to the expansion of the budget?  The article doesn't make that clear, and considering how frequently GOP budgets are mischaracterized, I have to wonder.  Regardless, this is the start of budget negotiations, a request for HUD to justify the money they're requesting.  Their actual budget will look a lot different.

The article implied it is an actual cut, but @CYDdharta is correct that it is unclear. It is very specific about one of the line items being cut in the budget providing prior year comparioson was salary and administrative expenses.  That part of the budget is not getting a draconian cut, and is a reaonable percentage reduction at first glance.
at the end of the day we need to make prioritization decisions what's important, but if there is a draconial yOY cut for HUD that maynot be a great idea.

No, that budget should be left alone. Firstly, the inner cities need a lot of work done and cutting that department's budget won't help. If anything, the military budget should be cut. I'm also a huge fan of Ben Carson and am happy he's in charge.
