  • No, Donald Trump is overly-aggressive, but that's next level.
  • No, I don't believe that he's that crazy.
  • ale5ale5 263 Pts   -
I think he will start a Trade War, cyber war, and maybe some other virtual war.  I hope he doesn't cause some crazy conflict in middle-east or North Korea that has nuclear weapons.  At this point it looks like he will not start a war with Russia, that's good.
It's kind of fun to do the impossible

I say that he may cause either civil war, or some sort of revolution, as the country is getting polarized.  People are blocking each other on facebook and creating friction at work, will we evolve into two races - Trumpers and AntiTrumpers?
  • agsragsr 881 Pts   -
Trump is not expected to start an actual war. I agree with Ale5 though that some type of trade war, cyber war, etc that's a different story.

I don't believe that he will start a war.
  • hjjnh_1919hjjnh_1919 17 Pts   -
No, I don't think that he will. I am greatly surprised that it's 75-25 in the poll. Also, amazing website. I found this through and debate.org. I am planning to only use this from now on and tell others about debateisland.com!
  • agsragsr 881 Pts   -
I think the 75% in the poll reflects a more loose definition of war.  War as defined as trade war, cyber war.

  • I believe that he will not cause a war, but may get the US into some things that they shouldn't be in especially with Mexico.
  • No, I don't think so. Also, now it's 60-40.
  • lbsjk_4949lbsjk_4949 12 Pts   -
No, I don't think that he will. Also, 55-45. Trump will hopefully be able to stay under control. Although, he might have a war with the media.
  • pouda_4747pouda_4747 12 Pts   -
    No. It's 50-50!!!!!!!!!
  • agsragsr 881 Pts   -
Let's all vote against it and hope that Trump reads this poll and avoid a war in his presidency

  • I don't think that he will start a war, although he may with the video. Also, funny remark agsr. You are a great person in debateisland.com. One of the best.

Trump obviously will try to put America First that means he will take the initiative which is in the best case for Americans and second for rest of the world. I believe Trump will be more realistic in dealing with widespread Terrorism and try to get him on board with the countries which developed themselves as a haven for terrorists and indulge in proxy wars e.g.Pakistan. Meanwhile, he would give a fierce look to the American Companies who open branches elsewhere in World and export jobs that means, at that front, it will be alarming in terms of Business deals with other countries. And countries can be hit by Trump's ambition of getting more jobs to America. Moreover, he will aim at anti-globalization mantra to root out Job conundrum. Trump all over focus on eradicating terrorists from his Nation as well as from others and opt for a better convincing way which drives other countries to act seriously against terrorists.
  • arpitastvarpitastv 12 Pts   -
No, definitely not.. I don't believe that he will start a war but yes he will  definitely try to put lots of his efforts  to put his country first as he has already said.
  • Donald Trump will ensure that American interests are protected.  If that means a war then he will do that. I think though it is unlikely, so I vote no.
  • CYDdhartaCYDdharta 1823 Pts   -
It depends on what you mean.  If you mean an actual war, then it's highly unlikely; the last time the US declared war on anyone was during WWII.  If you mean what the mainstream media will call a war, which is pretty much any use of any kind of force anywhere in the world, then more than likely yes.
  • agsragsr 881 Pts   -
@CYDdharta , I agree as well. Actual war is unlikely, but a more broader sense of "war"..cyber, media, etc is a strong possibility.

I don't think that Syria strike qualifies
  • CYDdhartaCYDdharta 1823 Pts   -
@WhyTrump ; If Trump's strike on Syria constitutes a "war" what did you think of Pres Clinton when he bombed Baghdad to stop Saddam's "nuclear, chemical and biological weapons programs and its military capacity to threaten its neighbors."
  • WhyTrumpWhyTrump 234 Pts   -
@CYDdharta , I am actually unsure if this Syria strike and Clinton actions qualify as "war" or not.  It is some form of military aggression at a minimum.  The bigger concern is if these actions will escalate to a full war.  With Russia not backing down, hopefully we will not start WW3.
With this Syria situation chances of a full blown war are increasing for sure than when this debate started.

According to dictionary definition, Syria may technically well qualify as a war.
    http://www.dictionary.com/browse/war
a conflict carried on by force of arms, asbetween nations or between parties within anation; warfare, as by land, sea, or air.
    2.
a state or period of armed hostility or activemilitary operations

    WhyTrump - a good question
  • CYDdhartaCYDdharta 1823 Pts   -
@WhyTrump ; Clinton's aggressions (Operation Desert Fox) went on for a week.  Wouldn't you classify that as more of a war than Trump's strikes on Syria thus far?
  • WhyTrumpWhyTrump 234 Pts   -
@CYDdharta , Agreed. So far Clinton desert fox operation was more of a war than Syria so far. The big question is chance of what comes next
    WhyTrump - a good question
  • joecavalryjoecavalry 430 Pts   -
Trump will not start a war during his presidency. This would an unlikely outcome, although US-Russia tensions could potentially rise especially with the recent events ouccuring such as the Syria attack done by the US.

  • love2debatelove2debate 186 Pts   -
Syria, afganistan, so far not a war.  But as these conflicts evolve, and now the noise of North Korea, I'd say a war is looking more likely.
  • PinoPino 85 Pts   -
He certainly won't start one but he may, by being proactive defending America, have to finish one.
Trump is confronting the issues which Barack, inertia, Obama unnecessarily permitted to develop form minor irritants into major problems with the direst of consequences.
America's enemies now know that the U.S, has a president who is not going to sit idly by and watch America being taken advantage of, either militarily or industrially.
Many will now be soiling their trunks at Trumps decisiveness and try to effect a character assassination on him.
  • WhyTrumpWhyTrump 234 Pts   -
@Pino , he may inadvertently start a war, as he lacks experience with international politics.  There are mounting pressures with major super-powers.  He will have to carefully and diplomatically navigate though rough waters to avoid a war with Russia, North Korea, and Middle East.
    WhyTrump - a good question
  • love2debatelove2debate 186 Pts   -
@WhyTrump , even if we go to war with any of the countries you listed, we cannot assign responsibility for "starting a war" to Trump.
  • PinoPino 85 Pts   -
    @Pino@WhyTrump;-
Whilst Trump is somewhat inexperienced in politics, both international and domestic, he will have an army of highly experienced specialist experts to advise him on the merits and potential pitfalls of his proposed course of actions on the many issues which require urgent attention and that he, unlike Obama, has the political courage to confront.
It would be political cowardice to hide under the bed, metaphorically speaking, and avoid making the tough, easily criticised decisions when all the while  the threat they pose to the nation grows steadily worse.
The other thing to remember is that President Trump has a loyal and experienced ally in the form of the United Kingdom which has endorsed every move which the President has made.
America is fighting wars on a number of fronts, namely the ongoing battle with Muslim terrorism, the belligerent Ruskies, the expansionist Chinese and the unstable regime of North Korea.
Trump seems to have selected North Korea as his 1st priority and he is achieving some success in recruiting China's assistance in dealing with this lunatic despot.

  • WhyTrumpWhyTrump 234 Pts   -
@Pino, my concern is Trump's number of "number 1" priorities.  It keeps shifting from a wall, to proving Obama witretapped him, obamacare, import tax, syria, afganistan, and now North Korea?
we need to really prioritize and do a few things well, or we will fail at everything.
north Korea is a dangerous enemy, if we provoke them we better be sure they will not poke back with nuclear force (literally). As far as our allies, I am not sure that we fully tested their support under Trump administration.

We may argue qualifications of Trump advisors and how much he is listenting to them, but I doubt how much success he will have China helping him (there is a related debate on that too)
    WhyTrump - a good question
  • PinoPino 85 Pts   -
@WhyTrump;- Well he is going to have to prioritize his priorities, ha.
I don't have a copy of any of his presidential campaign speeches available just now but he should have announced his list of issues requiring urgent attention but made it known that they were not necessarily in order of priority.
The one ally the U.S, will always be able to rely on is the United Kingdom.
The rest of Europe may, at best give some lip service to America's efforts to extract the nuclear capability from North Korea and it's deranged lunatic dictator.
The U.K, has endorsed every action and statement which Trump has made regarding North Korea and Russia's expansionist moves in Europe.
