Amazon's Prime discount at Whole Foods coming to 10 more states - CNET

Amazon Prime is worth purchasing in any case, as long as you order from Amazon regularly. I have been a happy Prime member for 4 years now, and the amount of money I save on delivery costs (Prime members receive free 2-day delivery on most products) and various discounts for Prime members far surpasses the yearly membership fee.

Prime members also have access to a large collection of freely available movies (albeit I personally do not like the selection). There are other benefits as well, such as being able to order some products from Japanese Amazon with free delivery, being eligible for the Amazon rewards card (my application was declined due to the short credit history, but if this is not the case for you, then you can get a lot of money back off your purchases with it), being able to use Prime Pantry system (essentially a food delivery service; $5 per delivery), large discounts (up to 15%) on subscription products... The Whole Foods discount is a part of this trend.

I would not recommend Prime, however, if you only order from Amazon occasionally. Around 5 orders a year is where it becomes profitable, I would say.
