I think it may be between Windows, Apple OS, Raspbian, Or Linux.

Windows is still better for a full computer experience, but iOS works for 95% of the uses cases, and iPad, Iphone is all you need for most of the activity.

Windows is out. I can'r remember when the last time my tablet wasn't good enough to get something done.  With Windows the bootup time is annoying, and it always slows down after awhile.   Go iOS Apple.

As much as I like competition in general, and especially the open source model in the computer field - Windows simply dominates the consumer market in terms of quality and functionality. MacOS seems to be a pale twin of Windows, with much fewer features and barely any exclusive features. Linux is a good idea on paper, but in practice lackluster-y availability of commercial software, user-unfriendly interface and lack of proper standardization make it a nightmare to use as the primary OS (believe me, I tried, switched to Linux only for a couple of years in my hippier days - ah, the good idealistic days). Other operating system are just too specialized and quirky for the average consumer, and they feature even smaller abundance of available commercial software, than that of Linux.

That is not to say that the base of Windows is any better than that of the other popular systems; in my opinion, Linux offers by far the best base to build a system on top of. However, Windows simply happened to win over the consumers at some point, and since then it has been the king in the field, offering the customers a royal product.

Some things just happen to be this or that way. Middle Eastern warriors preferred curved swords, while European warriors preferred straight ones. Why? This is what they are used to, these are the designs they have developed the most thoroughly, these are the fighting techniques they have perfected over centuries. Europeans are masters of forging straight swords, and Middle-Easterners are masters of forging curved swords. The current computer specialists are masters of Windows, and even if a different historical course would have made MacOS into the dominant system instead, from the practical standpoint Windows is still a more functional system in the modern world.
