Chinese Scientists Clone Monkeys Using Method That Created Dolly The Sheep

The Greg Gutfeld show has panelists discussing, if they would like to have a clone of themselves.

I thought it's hilarious.  I personally hope that we don't cross the line of human cloning anytime soon.

    No, cloning may not be natural which could not be good.

    @Max_Air29, true that it maynot be good, but also maybe great.  If done carefully and within some sort of an ethical framework it can be a game changer.

    Cloning may lead to a larger population of Earth which may not be good.

    @joecavalry, that's a great concern

    Overpopulation is becoming a huge issue in the United States and all over the world. If we were all to make clones of ourselves there would be severe overpopulation throughout the world and having this problem would result in many problematic cases. Also, cloning is genetically unsafe in my perspective because if one little thing goes wrong it could lead to your cells exploding and a genetic overload if one of your genes is off or something is there that shouldn't be. There could also be a genetic malfunction which could lead to the clone being incorrect. Finally, your clone could be genetically unstable, like I said, if something were to go wrong. Also, with the monkeys being cloned it took the scientists 127 eggs to get the clone right so I think it would take an extremely long time to be able to clone a human efficiently and I don't think it would take off very fast.

    averyapro I don't think over population is a concern in the United States. Only in poor country's of densely populated country like Bangladesh. I do however think that clones may experience problems. A clone of myself would still be human and should have the right to life liberty and justice. But if the cloning process has even a little mistake then my clone my die or have problems. It would not be fair to my clone to mess up the cloning process so until cloning is mastered their is no way I would wan't any human cloning them selves.

    Overpopulation is NOT a problem.  Below-replacement fertility may be the next problem.

    Millennials say no to kids, population 'replacement level' turns negative
    About That Overpopulation Problem

    Male fertility in Western nations has dropped by more than half.

    Cloning may one day be needed just to keep population levels stable.

    CYDdharta I do think overpopulation is not a problem for the earth. Many country still do not have the necessary resources to propely satain their populations. Bangladesh had to kick people out of their country.

    That's less a problem of overpopulation than a sudden strain of people fleeing violence.  There will always be sudden shifts of people due to wars, violence, political uprisings, natural catastrophes, etc.
