How to argue with a liberal?

Debate Information

How to argue with a liberal?  Before you can answer  of how to argue with a liberal, you should be ready for a few challenges.  Since many liberal arguments will challenge what others may believe defines common sense, be prepared to simply not give up.  Liberals will argue you to a submission, until you cannot stand to argue anymore.  In liberal's mind, if you didn't win then you lost.

Here are top 5 golden rules to argue with a liberal.

1 - liberals will argue until you give up, so the first golden rule is not to give up.
2 - liberals will shift their arguments so you cannot pin them down when you show a liberal an objective source.  To counter that, don't start presenting your sources until you feel confident that liberals solidified their argument.
3 - Liberals will often state their positions as black and white and will not seek middle ground.  Liberal position will not evolve their point of view, as it is based on preconceived notions and cheesy slogans.
4 -Liberals will try to pin you down based on a technical definition in some weird source like LiberalRUs or a Liberal-dictionary.  It is like dealing with a patent attorney, except in a bizarro world, where a patent attorney is a 5-year old.
5 - Liberals will not admit to having a flawed argument or ever being wrong. Knowing that, you know that you are winning when liberals stop attacking your argument and start defending theirs.

What are some other resources to argue with a liberal?

The rules you specified above can just as easily apply by replacing liberals with Trump supporters.

How to argue with a liberal
    replaced with
how to argue with Trump supporters.

what you specified above can apply to an argument between any two parties who are essentially talking over each other.

I would say that you should start with learning the definition of a "liberal" , and proceed with not generalizing some of the negative experiences you have had on the entire liberal population. When these conditions are satisfied, your argument has a chance of being reasonable and logical, and at that point you only need one thing to argue with a liberal: logic. And it applies to arguing with anyone, liberal or not. Your argument should be sound, self-consistent and independent of who your opponent is; if your argument depends on who you are arguing against, then you are likely more interested in "winning" an argument, than learning something from this argument, and in this case you may as well just not argue, since it will not be productive for either you or your opponent.

That said, when it comes to debating with people who constantly employ logical fallacies and various psychological tricks to try to get you off-balance - then the best way to argue is to walk away. If in an argument one of the sides is not interested in logic, then the argument cannot lead anywhere, no matter what the other side does. The anti-logical side will just keep saying "Cannot hear you, but you are wrong!", and this wall cannot be breached.

Your generalization of an entire group of individuals is ridiculous and does nothing to further anything. It is this logic of generalization that enforces things like racism and homophobia, things that liberals happen to be against...

Liberals aren't really against racism or homophobia unless it helps their cause.  They called Dak Prescott an Uncle Tom and a House Nigger for refusing to kneel during the National Anthem.

I'm leaning towards Liberals being one of the more intolerant and bigoted of the groups in today's world...kind of like they were when the party fought to keep slavery around.  Seems today that Liberals only champion against racism if the cause is directly in support of the Liberal Movements.  Anytime a Black American stands up against a Liberal policy...they're immediately labeled as a Race traitor.  Candace Owens, Kanye West, Larry Elder, Morgan Freeman, Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams...just some of our recent Black Americans that stood up against Liberal politics...the same politics that are shaping places like California, Chicago, Detroit, St. Louis, and Oakland.  These Black Men and Women are frequently called Race traitors and their mental fitness is called into question frequently by left wing Liberals who would have their voices silenced.
"If there's no such thing as a question then what kind of questions do people ask"?

"There's going to be a special place in Hell for people who spread lies through the veil of logical fallacies disguised as rational argument".

"Oh, you don't like my sarcasm?  Well I don't much appreciate your stup!d".

Is the answer a right-wing circle jerk? If not I think you guys are on the wrong track.

Let's consider the words of May Tse-tung:

"Liberalism is extremely harmful in a revolutionary collective. It is a corrosive which eats away unity, undermines cohesion, causes apathy and creates dissension. It robs the revolutionary ranks of compact organization and strict discipline, prevents policies from being carried through and alienates the Party organizations from the masses which the Party leads. It is an extremely bad tendency.

Liberalism stems from petty-bourgeois selfishness, it places personal interests first and the interests of the revolution second, and this gives rise to ideological, political and organizational liberalism.

People who are liberals look upon the principles of Marxism as abstract dogma. They approve of Marxism, but are not prepared to practice it or to practice it in full; they are not prepared to replace their liberalism by Marxism. These people have their Marxism, but they have their liberalism as well--they talk Marxism but practice liberalism; they apply Marxism to others but liberalism to themselves. They keep both kinds of goods in stock and find a use for each. This is how the minds of certain people work.

Liberalism is a manifestation of opportunism and conflicts fundamentally with Marxism. It is negative and objectively has the effect of helping the enemy; that is why the enemy welcomes its preservation in our midst. Such being its nature, there should be no place for it in the ranks of the revolution.

We must use Marxism, which is positive in spirit, to overcome liberalism, which is negative. A Communist should have largeness of mind and he should be staunch and active, looking upon the interests of the revolution as his very life and subordinating his personal interests to those of the revolution; always and everywhere he should adhere to principle and wage a tireless struggle against all incorrect ideas and actions, so as to consolidate the collective life of the Party and strengthen the ties between the Party and the masses; he should be more concerned about the Party and the masses than about any private person, and more concerned about others than about himself. Only thus can he be considered a Communist.

All loyal, honest, active and upright Communists must unite to oppose the liberal tendencies shown by certain people among us, and set them on the right path. This is one of the tasks on our ideological front."

Most of the "20 questions liberals can't answer" all follow the same train of thought. A liberal once said this, but doesn't that contrast with what another liberal said? Newsflash: Liberals sometimes disagree on things! You can't expect everybody from one ideology or political party to think exactly the same as everybody else. Some liberals want the free market, for example, while I think it needs tighter restrictions, mainly to avoid another economic crisis like the one we had 10 years ago. Not every liberal has the same opinion. This is the most used way by right wingers to criticize the left. And of course, it rarely works.

there I fixed it for you, but yes I agree we shouldn't make blanket statements like that.
