Are religous nations better than non-religous nations?

I agree with Wowsil. I find that religion often creates ignorance and a lack of critical thinking, because it give people the mentality of "god knows best".

This is a bit of a loaded question. There are different religious nations out there, and different non-religious nations out there. I would say that atheist Finland is better than religious Yemen, but religious UAE is better than atheist North Korea.

"All other things equal", however... Religious nations tend to severely under-perform economically and socially, since their political systems are based on old holy books and not on the economical and political sciences, and religion can never replace science when it comes to practical implementation of complex systems.
