When a majority of a US States voters vote for one presidential candidate it is in that States best interest that that candidate wins. Therefor in order to maximize the chance of that candidate winning it is in the States best interest to put 100% of its voting power towards that candidate. However this may lead to cases where the candidate who wins would not have won if the States voted proportionately. In this case the wining candidate will be going agents the best interest of the people and for the interest of the States. So the question is should the US government side with the interest of its States or its population? (In your opinion not according to the current standing political documents)
