Someone asked me in the pub recently, "Why do we call hating gays, homophobia...after all, when someone has a phobia, it's because they fear something, as with claustrophobia or arachnophobia?"
Well, the reason is that actually is the case...those who vilify gays are fearful of them.
We know that phobias are manifested through ignorance and arrogance.....someone is arachnophobic because he doesn't know anything about spiders and arrogant to the point that (through fear) he doesn't want to know.
The best way to overcome fears, of course, is to face them. Let a couple of tarantulas walk freely over an arachnophobic and he'll start getting to like the little critters and wonder what all his fear and fuss was about in the first place.
So, therefore, why don't all you theist homophobes go down to your nearest gay bar, go up to a gay, give him a hug and a kiss and say..."gee I like you"?
Oh.....since we are practising safe distancing, perhaps just blow a fairy kiss instead.
