Now, I am not usually one for this but in times of national emergencies such as the covid pandemic for example I think temporary martial law might be warranted. I have come to this thinking after recently reflected about Covid and all the people adding to the problem - The plebien protesters, the conspiracy whack jobs, the dimwits on either side of the politcal patry whining about current lockdown measures and so forth.
Now, I am not advocating something like that seen in communist countries such as china. However, due to China's approach and other nearby Asian countries they've been the most successful in controlling Covid. They came down on it like a ton of bricks. Their peak was 88000 cases about year ago and that has remained unchaged. Go figure.
What do you think? Do you think a temporary martial law is a good idea for emergencies such as the covid pandemic? If yes why? If no, why?
