True. And no matter what they put out for public consumption pertaining to sovereignty, Ireland is still under the boot of the British crown. 

When Ireland declared itself a republic in 1949, thus making it impossible at the time to remain in the British Commonwealth, the British government legislated that even though the Republic of Ireland was no longer a British dominion, it would not be treated as a foreign country for the purposes of British law.

Well thats because they were still suffering from the potato famine because they forgot where they planted the Murphies in the first place. And that led to fighting and they were to busy having bloody wars with them selves to even think about fighting other wars.

The uprising began when residents of the Warsaw Ghetto refused to be deported to Treblinka death camp. Jewish fighters, vastly outnumbered and outgunned, held out for nearly a month before being crushed by the Germans.
• The Bialystok Ghetto Uprising (August 16–17, 1943): The Bialystok Ghetto Uprising was another major uprising in which Jews fought back against deportations to death camps.
• The Treblinka Uprising (August 2, 1943): The Treblinka Uprising was a revolt by prisoners at the Treblinka death camp, one of the deadliest extermination camps of the Holocaust. Even though the uprising failed, it was an act of defiance against the Nazis.
• Sobibor Uprising (October 14, 1943): The Sobibor Uprising was another successful revolt by prisoners at a death camp. Hundreds of prisoners escaped the camp, although most were eventually recaptured and killed by the Germans.
• Vilna Ghetto Uprising (January 1–2, 1943): The Vilna Ghetto Uprising was an armed uprising by the United Partisan Organization (Fareinikte Partizaner Organizacje, FPO) in the Vilna Ghetto.
• Bialystoker Ghetto Uprising (September 1943): Though short-lived, the Bialystoker Ghetto Uprising was another act of resistance against Nazi brutality.
• Bendzin Uprising (August 2, 1943): In the Bendzin Ghetto, now part of Sosnowiec, Poland, Jews also fought back in an uprising against the Nazis.

Approximately 30,000 people were executed, including over a hundred of the most accomplished generals and admirals. Further, when the war began, he made use of the "barrier divisions", which were basically squadrons tasked solely with shooting down friendlies refusing to keep marching forward. This amount of friendly fire is pretty much unprecedented in the modern war history, and it is hard to top this level of incompetence with anything else.
