It’s human nature to make good from tragedies and surely there will be a legacy of cultural changes that will stay with society long after the pandemic has passed.
For example, during the blitzes of WW2, Londoners were forced to spend much of their time in Subways and built a strong sense of community spirit in helping each other and communicating personally with each other. Today, we still see that spirit alive in Londoners.
Take a look at religion also. Despite the adversity, there are many great traditions,… Muslims, Jewish an Hindus have colorful festivals with spectacular variety of foods. Similarly, Christians well, er eat fish and chips on Fridays, and the great tradition of Church fetes where parishioners get to flog off their old preserves and jams that never set properly then stand around with forced smiles on their dials holding cups of tea with two fingers pretending to like each other.
So, what traditions will come from COVID? Maybe everyone will great each other by banging elbows for centuries to come. Perhaps, like celebrating Rhamadan, we will celebrate Lockdown.
