Are Agnostics Making the Right Choice?

Let's face it, advances in technology and the availability of information have pretty well put an end to the notion of there being a God or Creator who sits somewhere up in the clouds looking over us.

As a civilized society, we have moved on from believing myths about witches, goblins, heaven and hell. And is it any wonder why so many people are leaving religion in droves with reports of scandals and criminal behavior rocking the foundations of religious institutions?

"Sitting on the fence" is no real answer since, if there really is a God He would see through the phoniness of taking a two-way bet in pretending to believe just to get to heaven.

Yet, there is still the niggling thought at the back of your mind saying "something must have made all this", which is only natural since, in the absence of anything definitive we tend to gravitate to the answer that looks appealing to fill the gap of wonderment. Anyhow, one might ask, "then who made God?", and so the argument goes on forever with no resolution.

So really, it comes down to one very small possibility that God might exist.

If you were to buy a ticket in the national lotteries, would you tell everyone that you are going to become a multi-millionaire and sell your home in readiness to move into your dream mansion when the time comes? Of course not.

The fact is though, that winning the national lottery is a definite possibility since somebody will win it.

So, is it worthwhile clinging onto such a slim possibility that is not definite?
