This maybe just a tad hypothetical (theists should grasp this quite easily) but, shouldn't all religious followers hold their respective Gods accountable for their actions in a similar way that we do with all leaders?
For example; there are about 10,000 Gods currently being worshipped around the world and we select just one of them randomly....let's say awwwwwwww.....the Christian God, to illustrate the due process. And, given that all democracies use the judicial process to determine guilt and punishment, let's take a look at some of the crimes that the Almighty might be charged with and held accountable for.
1) Rape: The Bible makes it quite clear in the book of Luke that God sent two of his spiritual henchman down to earth to confront an innocent lady riding a donkey through the desert with her boyfriend one day. They demanded that she submit herself to be inseminated by God, and she refused. Again (from memory I think she was called Mary, her boyfriend was Joseph and the donkey was Eee Aww), she was asked and refused the most generous offer at which point she was virtually read the riot act and threatened with dire consequences if she would not bend over and spread her legs. Of course, the Almighty did commit the act and we now have an ex facie case of rape to answer to. For technical reasons, the trial could be held in Australia where most jurisdictions do not have a statute of limitation for the crime of rape (since it happened over 2000 years ago). Less civilised judiciaries such as in the USA of course give rape victims only three years to get over their grief to muster up the courage and report the crime.
2) Murder: Of course, the Christian God is more popularly known for genocides (e.g. the Cannanites), mass murders (the Flood) and serial killings yet we should be cautious even contemplating putting God on the stand given the complexity and amount of evidence required. The prudent thing would be to go for the test case of say one murder like Er or Lot....the latter would surely attract much media attention owing to the highly saucy nature of the trial evidence.
3) Infanticide and Child Abuse: The Christian God makes a big deal about how every kid is His child yet He let's 15,000 of them die every day and 356 million more live in extreme poverty in refuse tips, all of them supposedly in His care. The courtroom may get a little bit packed with grieving parents looking for justice and of course we would need to get Social Services involved but these are very serious offences and there is overwhelming evidence to lay charges.
4) DUI: We know that God doesn't necessarily need His Tesla to travel between crime scenes and, as it happens, he would be pushed for time anyway so it's no wonder that he just needs to sit back and snap his fingers each time he wants to drop a piano so to speak. Nevertheless, it is quite routine nowadays for Police to do substance abuse testing on all crime suspects whether or not they are found in a car... In the case of the Chistian God I'm sure the liquid in the meth test kit would turn instantly pink from several km away.
So, having determined the offences and the jurisdictions we would need to decide on a court, say the International Criminal Court in the Hague and what would be an apt punishment?
