Nahh.  That certainly WAS the position we held when women stayed home.  But today, by necessity, women are in the job market.  Therefore, they're entitled to the same rights any worker has.

I have not seen any argument in favor of the stated assumption that "The reason humanity has reached its current position is because of patriarchy." Not only have you not explained how this is the reason for it, you did not even explain what you meant by "current position". Consider an alternative timeline in which the society historically has largely developed along the matriarchal line: would it result in a worse current position, and if so, in what way and why?

Empirically, it appears that the more equal men and women are in a society, the more prosperous that society is. Now, it is a purely correlatory connection, and while there are certain causal arguments to be made here, it is not clear to me that equality between men and women causes prosperity, especially since "prosperity" itself is somewhat subjective. Nonetheless, this connection does make the claim that patriarchal societies are somehow better for the individual than egalitarian or matriarchal societies under questions. Societies with the most extreme gender inequality, such as the ones found in Saudi Arabia, Yemen or Iran, do not seem particularly well-off, while societies with the least amount of gender inequality, such as those found in most Western countries, are leading the world in virtually all reasonable metrics.

Take any field of human activity, say, engineering. In an extremely patriarchal society women might be prohibited from taking any engineering jobs - compared to an extremely egalitarian society, that would reduce the amount of available workforce by half, making high quality engineers more scarce, with obvious negative consequences. One might argue that this issue could be offset by some benefits that such a society would provide, such as women, perhaps, spending more time at home and keeping the family unit more stable - but that is a questionable element of prosperity. An engineer can build a bridge and make the world measurably a better place, while a housewife who cooks food at home instead of, say, working as an engineer and using part of her salary to pay someone to cook for her family, does not seem to make anyone's life better, while missing on the opportunities to make everyone's life better.
I would be curious to hear your argument in favor of a society with 1,000,000 housewives and 1,000,000 male engineers versus, say, a society with 900,000 female engineers, 100,000 housewives, 900,000 male engineers, and 100,000 "househusbands".
