What Would be Worse, a Full on Republic or a Full on Democracy?

Debate Information

It’s pretty obvious that if we went full on Republic of Democracy, it would fail. But, which one would fail worse? We already have two very famous examples of a Democracy and Republic: Ancient Greece (D) and Rome (R). Both failed because of corruption, division, the economy, and a few other things.

First: yes there is a quick stop to corruption it is called an impeachment as it disoves all political ties.

That would fall under justice when exposed. But as you know it's not always so quick.

Every person who votes, pays taxes, and preserves, defends, or protects the United States Constitutional Republican. The fact you do not know or have knowledge of this fact only proves the issue is not a republican democrat problem. People can claim a change of status any time and even sabotage a status of a United States Constitutional Right. These rights are held by a person or not held self-evident by any number of people. No matter the title they call themselves.

If the government is to exist, it has to be efficiently organized. There is a reason that, for example, large corporations have a strict hierarchical structure: delegation of responsibility downwards is much more efficient, than horizontal free-for-all chaos. And there is no reason that it should be any different for the government. I think that Singapore and pre-1997 Hong-Kong had brilliant political systems.

However, "soft dictatorships" have the obvious flaw: they gravitate towards becoming hard dictatorships. There has to be some feedback, and modern democratic systems provide just that: if you do a terrible job, you get reelected. Representative democracy has been the best form of government ever attempted by human kind.

Where I think modern Western governments have gone wrong is in reversing the decentralization trends: the federal governments have become too powerful and the local governments too weak. Now, in small countries such as Singapore and Hong-Kong this is not the case since they are small to begin with and their governments are naturally small. But take a monstrosity like the US or Germany: the federal government can amass a lot of power when ruling over tens of millions of people.

Take the US. Initially the country was primarily run by state and local governments, and the federal government was more of a night watchman that would intervene only when the state and local governments failed at their responsibilities. This is clearly not the case any more: 1 out of 100 Americans is now a federal employee, the federal government's spending comes up to nearly a half of the total economical spending in the country, and the Federal Code of Regulations is the largest book ever written by humankind. These are not United States of America: this is a single unitary state in essence. And in Europe, the European Union is becoming a comparably dictatorial force.

Decentralization should take precedence, otherwise representative democracies deteriorate into the rule of demagogues. When someone lives in Tucson and most of the laws around him depend on bureaucrats in Washington DC, he feels powerless - and he will vote for whoever puts up the best show on TV, not for whoever he can count on. Local sheriff who a lot of people know well and trust? Nope, here is Joe Biden for you!

There's no stopping corruption. It is not corruption, and the American Constitutional discrepancy can easily be corrected. American can probably even lower the National debt as well doing so.

The truth that can be held as a United State Constitutional Right Impeachment must start with nothing else to interfere with its conclusion before Congress and Senate is assembled, and there are some officers in employment of America who must go through an impeachment full process before any possible actions are taken by the court against them. They are not corrupt they have been mismanaged by the system and the political bands which hold them have not be first been dissolved. It is the Chief Justice who is assigned and carries the burden overseeing the dissolving of all political bands informing senate and congress the process cannot stop the full process of impeachment once started must be seem all the way through, correctly. The supreme court judge and all members of the House who have gone on record stopping impeachment are to be impeached as well.

What is not understood by the people is how the so call independent democracy loses only one Civil Rights trial but the people gain a long awaited powerful United States Constitutional Right.
