    Jesus was definitely Jewish with his biological lineage associated with David from the southern part of Israel.  How are you defining Palestinian?

    A Palestinian is a person who is native to or lives in Palestine, or an Arab who previously lived in Palestine and advocates for an Arab homeland there.

    The Romans did not name Palestine . The. Philiastiens did.  They were an acient people that they believe were of European decent that ruled the area for a period of time. When they left the name was considered an insult to the other people in the surrounding area.

    I could get in more detail but it really is not the point of the debate and I just wanted you to know the true providence of the name.

    Any evidence? Bible verses aren't evidence. They're just dogma to assist in religious conviction.

    @all4actt
    No, the Philistines did not name their land Palestine. The name "Palestine" most likely originated from the Egyptians or another neighboring civilization and was used to refer to the entire region, not just the area inhabited by the Philistines.

    @Factfinder ;

    "But first let’s consider one of its earlier and notable uses. The Roman emperor Hadrian reigned for 21 years between 117-138 A.D. From 132–136 A.D., a Jewish messianic figure, Bar Kokhba, led a revolt against Hadrian that resulted in the deaths of more than half a million Jews in their desperate bid for independence from their pagan conquerors. But their valiant attempt was in vain against the overwhelming power of Roman legions.

    Hadrian’s genocidal ambition intensified when he then decided to strip the Jews of their biblical name. He sought to change their identity and sever them from their ancestry by renaming the land Syria Palestina after the Philistines in the Bible—enemies of Israel, although not Arabs. Hadrian then made it worse. He renamed Jerusalem—the already 1,000-year-old Jewish capital—Aelia Capitolina and turned it into a pagan city."

    Thanks, but the emphasis on my question was less on when the name originated as nomenclature always has a starting point. But since you included that aspect I thought I'd correct you as it was the Greeks who first named it Palestine per the blog you sourced...

    However, the history of that name goes back millennia. First coined by the ancient Greeks for the five-city area in the Philistine confederacy
    https://cbnisrael.org/2021/10/21/the-truth-about-palestine-then-and-now/

    And that was about 500 yrs before the Bar Kokhba revolt...

    The first clear use of the term Palestine to refer to the entire area between Phoenicia and Egypt was in 5th century BCE ancient Greece,[iii][iv] when Herodotus wrote of a "district of Syria, called Palaistinê" (Ancient GreekΣυρίη ἡ Παλαιστίνη καλεομένη)[9] in The Histories, which included the Judean mountains and the Jordan

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestine_(region)#:~:text=The%20first%20clear%20use%20of,Judean%20mountains%20and%20the%20Jordan

    Over time the region may have condensed and expanded depending on geopolitical circumstances but it was in existence during the time of christ. Unless it fell into the ocean at some point?

    Now for the part of your post I was more interested in: You said...

    ...it's a made-up name for a people group who emanate from the seed of Satan.

    Any empirical evidence of this satan, or the seed of it you mention? Is there observational documentation or authentic recordings of people 'emanating' from this thing you reference? Remember, 'the bible says' isn't evidence.

    YOUR BIBLE INEPT THINKING AGAIN IN FRONT OF THE MEMBERSHIP!:  "Jesus was definitely Jewish with his biological lineage associated with David from the southern part of Israel.  How are you defining Palestinian? "

    When will you ever give this esteemed Religion Forum a break from your outright BIBLE STUPIDITY?!  Huh?

    I have already made you the Bible fool on this topic before, but you didn't take the BIBLE AXIOMS to heart that I gave you, other than to continually RUN AWAY from them in showing everyone in how BIBLE you are!  ENOUGH!

    1. Joseph could not pass on his "seeds of David through the flesh" to give the baby Jesus the blood line of David because Joseph did not have sexual relations with Mary to begin with! GET IT? This is because Jesus as God celestially and incestually impregnated is own mother Mary through His Holy Spirit which is part of His Triune Doctrine as being God. Therefore, Apostle Paul LIED when he said this: “Jesus the Messiah, our Lord, who was descended from David ACCORDING TO THE FLESH” (Romans 1:3)

    2. Furthermore, Jesus' mother Mary was a LEVITE, and her genealogy cannot be used to passing on the "seeds of David through the flesh" for obvious reasons, GET IT?  (Acts 2:30).

    3.  The genealogies of Jesus, and Joseph in Matthew 1:16 and in Luke are for them only, and could never be for Mary  because of the simple fact that Mary is NOT specifically mentioned anywhere within the Bible as being from the blood line of David in the first place, period!

    4.  ALL genealogies of the Hebrew peoples were in the fathers name, and NEVER in the 2nd class woman's name therefore Matthew and Lukes genealogies were for Jesus and Joseph's genealogy only as they said, and NOT FOR MARY! (Numbers 1:18)

    DO YOU UNDERSTAND THIS TIME IN HOW BIBLE DUMB YOU TRULY ARE IN SAYING THAT JESUS IS FROM THE LINEAGE OF DAVID?! HUH? .....  MAYBE?.....  JUST A LITTLE BIT?  LOL!

    You know you could have just did a quick Google search and found that Mary is said to descend on her father's side from the tribe of Judah, and on her mother's from the tribe of Levi.  That would make Jesus in the lineage of priest and king.  Non-Christian sources affirm that Jesus could predict the future, so that would make Jesus - prophet, priest, and king.  In ancient Israel, tribal affiliation came through the father and Mary’s father was from the tribe of Judah. The early church fathers all said this.  And the custom of bridegroom was that the husband could choose his bride from only among his tribe.

    @Factfinder ; The Scriptures tell you this...don't you trust the Scriptures?

    Archeology in Israel  involves the systematic investigation of all the remains of the country's past - from prehistory to the end of Ottoman rule. The profusion of material remains is evidence of the many cultures that have left their imprint on the Land.

    Above all archeological research clearly reveals the historical link between the Jewish people, the Bible and the Land of Israel, uncovering the remains of the cultural heritage of the Jewish people in its homeland. These visible remains, buried in the soil, constitute the physical link between the past, the present and the future of the Jewish people in its country.

    This unbroken chain of history can be observed at sites all over the country. Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, has been the focus of extensive archeological activity and remains of 5,000 years of history have been revealed.

    The land named Mesopotamia, the "Birthplace of Culture," saw the start of ways of life, laws, and worship. It helped the first towns and lands grow, such as the ones built by Sumerians, Assyrians, and Babylonians. These groups didn't just raise cities; they also penned tales, crafted rules, and held deep spiritual views.

    In the stories of the Jewish people, Mesopotamia is the spot where Abraham, key to Jews, Christians, and Muslims, set off in the Hebrew texts. He moved from that land to Canaan, taking in areas now called Israel and Palestine, marking a big pledge to God in these religions.

    Later, the name "Palestine" came up after an uprising in the years 132-136. The ruler of Rome, Hadrian, changed the place's name from Judea to Syria Palaestina to cut the tie of the Jews to the area after their fight, showing how the place's identity has shifted over time.

    The old Canaan, by the Jordan River's west side, is well-known as where biblical folks like Abraham stayed. But the Romans later named it "Palestine."

    Jesus came into the world in Bethlehem, in Judea—not Mesopotamia—a key point in chats about these sacred figures.

    To wrap it up, Mesopotamia holds deep roots in culture and old times. Yet, to get the whole picture, especially in stories from the Bible, we should look into how names like "Canaan," "Judea," and "Palestine" have changed through the years.

    Palestine has always existed. The Greeks coined the name about 500 BCE. Before that there had been tribes of who we now refer to as Palestinians as well as other nomads. What the bible says about god giving that land to the Jews even before that; doesn't negate the fact that the land and the people had been there before god promised it to Abraham. So your claim it didn't exist is wrong. Maybe it wasn't known as "Palestine" before god's promise to Abraham but it wasn't called Israel yet either.

    While there is general agreement that massive settlement of the coast of Canaan by sea peoples from Crete took place around 1200 B.C., there is no reason to suppose Philistine settlements did not exist long before this time. In Abram’s time as in the time of Moses a variety of peoples had settled in Canaan, including Hittites from the far north. Certainly the seagoing peoples who traded the Mediterranean had established colonies along the shores of the entire basin for centuries prior to Abraham’s time.

    Also you still haven't produced empirical evidence that Palestinians "emanate from the seed of Satan" like you claimed. The bible isn't evidence. Prove satan and its seed even exist. Then how do you observe your claims that people can emanate from them?

    One individual can be a member of multiple groups at the same time. Palestine is the general name for that region, and Israel is a part of that region. One can be simultaneously Jewish, Israelite and Palestinian, as per their nationality/religion, specific region of residence/origin, and general region of residence/origin. Assuming Jesus of Nazareth was a real and single individual, he was probably all three.

    And when one starts digging even deeper, it turns out that most of these labels are quite loose and arbitrary. Unlike real biological entities such as gender, "nationality" appears to be more of a socially emergent entity. Humans have always been migrating, and no matter which individual you look at, chances are 10 levels up in their family tree one can find residents of hundreds of states and regions. Perhaps Jesus' granddad was from Nubia - what difference would it make?

    I think it's entirely possible a guy named Jesus who had a following was alive and was crucified around the time of Christ. Minus all the supernatural claims of course .But the sandy blond haired blue eyed person often portrayed in images is not likely to be an accurate depiction. The thing is we may never know as physical evidence is lacking. I do know however I won't loose any sleep over it!  :D

    @Factfinder Palestine did not exist until a enemy of Israel provided the name as an insult to Israel's children.
    Palestine Never Existed as a Nation or an actual people group.

    Fact is people did exist in the region. What were they called before an "enemy" named them?
  • RickeyHoltsclawRickeyHoltsclaw 159 Pts   -
    @Factfinder The Philistines existed as an enemy of Israel, not Palestine.
  • FactfinderFactfinder 801 Pts   -
    @RickeyHoltsclaw

    You're missing the point. Regions undergo lots of changes. But they do not cease to exist because of name changes. You made the false claim that Palestine didn't exist before Christ. You said Romans named it Palestine first and I've debunked that. Greeks did. Point being there was people there before the Jews even if Jews arrived soon after. And biblically, you do accept that Jews arrived after, correct? Hence the battle of Jericho? The "gateway" into the promised land according to your bible? Do you know that Stalingrad was called Volgograd? One city, two names, always continued to exist since its emergence despite what it's called. Palestine has existed all along. Granted not as a state or country. But what difference does that make at the end of the day?

    Nope. Real historical research confirms the region existed before your bible did. And people were there before your bible said Abraham could have it.
    Why do you think Palestine and Palestinians never existed contrary to evidence and facts that they did; but you believe your fairy god elf exist with no evidence what so ever?

    @Factfinder ; Elohim gave the land of Israel to Abram via an unconditional covenant approximately 3900-years ago and that promise extended to Isaac and Jacob (Israel) and the Land of Israel has never been void a representative number of Jacob's children once fully occupied and the Land will remain in custody of Israel until the Earth is destroyed by fire.

    @just_sayin

    just_sayin,

    YOUR BIBLE IGNORANT QUOTE AGAIN IN RELATION TO MARY BEING FROM THE LINE OF DAVID, NOT!!!:  "You know you could have just did a quick Google search and found that Mary is said to descend on her father's side from the tribe of Judah, and on her mother's from the tribe of Levi.  That would make Jesus in the lineage of priest and king"

    HEADS UP BIBLE FOOL!  You did not give any biblical backup to your perceived notion that you laughably brought forth, other than for me to do a “Google Search” to find out that the celestially impregnated mother Mary through INCEST of her son Jesus through his spirit, is allegedly from the tribe of Judah, of which SHE IS NOT!!!!!

    ++++++  MARY IS A LEVITE FOR DUMMIES LIKE "JUST_SAYIN!!!" ++++++:

    ELIZABETH IS A COUSIN OF MARY:  “The angel speaking to Mary: “Look, even Elizabeth your cousin has conceived a son in her old age, and she who was called barren is in her sixth month.” (Luke 1:36)

    COUSIN: a child of one's uncle or aunt, a person belonging to the same extended family, as per Elizabeth shown above to Mary!

    Furthermore, Luke claims AGAIN that Mary was the “cousin” of Elizabeth, who he says was a descendant of Aaron the high priest:  “In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron.”  (Luke 1:5 )

    Therefore shown above, Aaron "Paternally" is a LEVITE family member to Elizabeth and Mary!: “And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.” (Exodus 4:14)

    Therefore, the simple math of family shown above depicts Mary to be a LEVITE!  2+2=4!

    1. HEADS UP AGAIN BIBLE FOOL! Nowhere in the third Gospel, or in the entire New Testament, is there a specific claim that the incestual Mother Mary was a descendant of the House of David, NONE!  On the contrary, Luke plainly asserts that it is Joseph who was from the House of David, and not Mary!

    To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph,of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.” (Luke 1:27)

    2. Furthermore at your embarrassing expense, in Luke 2:4, the author writes that the reason it was necessary for Joseph and Mary to return to Bethlehem was because it was Joseph who was from the house of David, and not Mary! GET IT BIBLE FOOL?

    And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; because he was of the house and lineage of David.” (Luke 2:4)

    3. The Tribal lineage is passed down through the human biological fathers LIKE YOU SAID, and not of their mothers like Mary, as explicitly shown in the following verse:

    “And on the first day of the second month, they assembled the whole congregation together, who registered themselves by families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names from twenty years old and upward, head by head.” (Numbers 1:18)

    4. Therefore, don’t even try to purport that the comical and alleged Luke 3:23-38 lineage relates to Mary to King David through Judah, where the beginning of this verse specifically states: "Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry. He was the son, so it was thought, of Joseph,..." where this is Joseph's tribal linage, and not Mary's, GET IT?

    Furthermore, Mary is not even mentioned in this lineage in Luke 3:23-38 in the first place because the linage relates to Fathers and not Mothers like Mary!  If the Bible writers wanted to prove without a doubt that Mary was from the linage of David, they would have written about this tribal fact, but they didn’t!  GET IT CONTINUED BIBLE FOOL?!

    Therefore, your mythical Jesus replied in your behalf the following truth about your Bible ineptness: “You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures" (Matthew 22:29). LOL!!!

    CASE CLOSED AT YOUR CONTINUED EMBARRASSMENT IN FRONT OF THE MEMBERSHIP AGAIN!

    NEXT PSEUDO-CHRISTIAN AS DUMBFOUNDED OF THE BIBLE AS ....“JUST_SAYIN” .... ON THE TOPIC OF MARY BEING FROM THE LINE OF DAVID, WHICH SHE IS NOT AS SHOWN IN THIS POST, WILL BE ….?
