https://www.cbsnews.com/news/barbara-pinkney-florida-deputy-tases-70-year-old-woman-three-times-while-trying-to-make-arrest-at-her-home/The lady deserved to be tased.
It almost seems like the lady purposefully got in the police officers way, long enough to allow the suspect that the police were looking for to get away.
And now there is going to be a protest, done to show support for the tased lady?
That's hypocritical, being that there are race on race crimes, and race on race murders happening every day in the United States?
And yet, there are ZERO protests being organized to protest any of those race on race crimes, or race on race murders, but this ladies supporters are going to have a protest to show support towards this lady, who in a sense obstructed the police from doing their jobs, to protect and serve the Public?

Did you read the entirety of the story?
"Bradenton, Florida — A sheriff's deputy tased a 70-year-old woman three times while trying to arrest someone else at her home, reports CBS Tampa affiliate WTSP-TV, citing arrest reports. The Manatee County Sheriff's Office said deputies were seeking someone wanted for carrying a concealed firearm on December 26."
"The arrest report said Barbara Pinkney met deputies at the door after another person at the home became uncooperative."
"Deputies said she told them they couldn't come in without a search warrant but they told her they didn't need a search warrant since they were executing an arrest warrant."
"The report said deputies told Pinkney she could be arrested for obstructing justice if she kept refusing to cooperate with them. At that point, she tried to shut the door on them, according to deputies."
("The arrest report said when one deputy tried to arrest Pinkney she pulled away and pushed him in the chest."
The deputy pulled out his taser and pulled the trigger, but it didn't have any effect, according to the report. So, the deputy tased her again and it sent her to the ground.
But she kept resisting, the report said, so she was tased a third time.
Investigators said a second deputy had to jump to help restrain Pinkney.
She was arrested for alleged felony battery on a law enforcement officer and obstructing justice and released on $1,000 bond.)
WTSP reached out to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office for comment and was told to call back Monday.
There was no definite word on the fate of the person the deputies went to the home to arrest or who the person is.
But the Bradenton Herald reports that he couldn't be found and that a deputy noted that, "There was enough time during the chaos at the front of the residence for (the suspect) to get out of the rear of the residence."
(An activist group called Answer Suncoast is organizing a march to show support for Pinkney for Tuesday night.)
The lady made a spectacle of herself, as a diversion to help the suspect, whom the police officers were looking for, to get way.
So again, she deserved to be tased.
So, she broke the law by aiding, and enabling a suspect in her residence, to run from the police.
My guess is, she'll get some Liberal lawyering assistance, who will do the talking for herself, to help keep her out of any more self created legal troubles?

"The guy who led this operation must be very embarrassed right now!"
Shouldn't the lady be embarrassed, for making the local news in her town, for obstructing the police officers from doing their jobs?
If I were a part of her family, I'd be embarrassed, the matriarch of their family, getting taken into custody, for being foolish?
Apparently, the person that she was protecting, is more important than the rest of her family is?
And I highly doubt that the police are embarrassed for tasing that lady.
They did their jobs, while she self earned herself a mug shot for her efforts.
Good job law enforcement, and thank you for your service, and for protecting the community, from anyone breaking the law, and getting tased, and earning a mugshot for their efforts.

"Good job"? They failed the operation by getting stopped by a 70 year old woman. In what world does that constitute a good job? They might never get the guy they wanted to arrest now, but they did get a 70 year old lady to prosecute... What an achievement.
I have never understood people who worship the police and praise the officers for everything, including their failures. Police officers are human beings, just like everyone else, and make mistakes. There is no need to defend them when their incompetence interferes with the law enforcement duties.

I think anyone resisting the police should be allowed to be tazed. If she was standing in the doorway blocking them from entering it may have been more harmful for them to run her over in order to catch the suspect. Also i dont really think the police should have to over power someone physically, maybe they have a knife in their pocket. Most of the time i never feel sorry for these people, they wouldnt get hurt if they were compliant.
As far as stationing people around the house, i doubt they bring an entire crew of people to arrest someone for a probabtion violation. 9 out of 10 times its probably fairly easy.

Typically you defend the police even when they display such heavy handed tactics on a scared 70 year old woman , what is it with you that you will excuse your police even when they up , do you think it’s somehow anti American to do so?
Idiots like @TKDB actually say “ thank you for your service “ to these worthless bully boys you seem to be on the same page ......
Barbara Pinkney of Bradenton, Fla., has been left distraught and traumatized after a horrific encounter with Manatee County sheriff’s deputies.
CBS News and WFLA report that on Dec. 26, deputies came to the 70-year-old’s home to serve an arrest warrant to her grandson, Tevin Turner, on a probation violation for carrying a concealed weapon.
“We heard a knock at the door. Actually, there wasn’t a knock. I think they kicked the door. Bam! Bam! At the door,” Pinkney told WFLA. “When he was on probation he gave this as his address, but he wasn’t living here.”
Pinkney refused the deputies’ entry on the basis that they didn’t have a search warrant, but the deputies insisted it wasn’t required since they were executing an arrest warrant.
That’s when things went left, as CBS News reports:
Yes, a 70-year-old woman who poses absolutely no physical threat was tased three times.
“I was just hollering. I was scared,” she said. “I didn’t know what else to do. I was just hollering.”
According to the probable cause affidavit, Pinkney was left with notable injuries after being tased in her “left arm,” “back,” and “upper back.” The deputy also used his knee to hold her against the ground before she was eventually arrested for felony battery on a law enforcement officer and obstructing justice. And to add insult to injury, this entire ordeal went down on her birthday.
“It’s not something that you see every day or something you expect to happen. Even if she wasn’t my grandmother. Dang, this is a 70-year-old woman,” said Elizabeth Francisco, Pinkney’s granddaughter-in-law, who video recorded the arrest.
On Jan. 17, Pinkney will have her day in court and thankfully, her community is prepared to fight right alongside her. Activist group Answer Suncoast will host a march on New Year’s Eve and it’s safe to assume other community efforts will be announced in the coming weeks.

The lady could have avoided all of it by just cooperating with the police. You and others on this thread get to assume that the lady was no threat and has no weapons, while that may seem fair to you your life is not on the line. She had already shown beligerent behavior by shoving the officer, not allowing him to come in and shuting the door.
She was tazed once which was ineffective, 2nd to get her to the ground, and 3rd for resisting...at any point non of this would have happened without her resisting. Tackling her may have given her worse injuries.

That woman's age is irrelevant.
And she got what she deserved.
No one should be placing their hands on a police officer, regardless of their age, sex, race, or nationality.
If anyone from this website, were to put their hands on a police officer, go ahead, see if any police officer, doesn't treat that individual in the same manner, that that woman got treated?
Because talk is cheap, but anyone's negative actions, are going to earn themselves, wearing some handcuffs, getting a mugshot, the need for a Defense Attorney, and the need to pay their legal bills, along with going to court to face a judge, because someone refused to keep their hands to themselves.

There are cops like this in lots of countries that like to abuse their power. There are even idiots like this in my country in the UK. These are the kind of cops that would not get in counter-terrorism or anything else like that nature. This also reminds me of a special forces guy in the UK once said (SAS he was ) that if a heavily armed SAS unit can complete a mission without resorting to even touching a lone sentry then you can surely not resort to kicking someone's butt because they called you some name that you didn't like. Similarly, there is no excuse for this cop behaving in this way. It' the cops that put their neck on the line every day for us that I have respect for; not the ones that kill or almost kill civilians because of some power trip. @Dee

If you, view what happened to, "Barbara Pinkney," as (police brutality) in your mind, then you are FREE, to self pander to your mindful perception over any fictional police brutality in regards to "Barbara Pinkney," all that you want to, can't you?
You're your own guest.
Why don't you reach out to Black Lives Matter, the NAACP, and the ACLU, and tell them all the way from the U.K., that you view the tasing of Barbara Pinkney as Police Brutality?
Why not fly to Florida, and arrange a Protest in her name?

You could ask Barbara Pinkney to help you out to, couldn't you @ZeusAres42?
The police officers didn't use police brutality against Barbara Pinkney, did they?
So why would I need to arrange a Protest in the Officer's name @ZeusAres42?

The police officers act was not good police conduct against Barbara Pinkney, was it?

I honestly do not understand what you are trying to say 99% of the time. It seems like you are throwing in random sentences somewhat associated with the topic, but having nothing to do with each other - without any particular grammar structure. It is never clear what point you are trying to make and why.
Punctuation elements, such as paragraph, question mark and comma, have very specific functions. You are not supposed to put them randomly between and at the end of sentences.

Incorrect I stated what the woman said , you stated it as fact you may have used the "term" assumption " but you're clearly totally supportive of the police
******The rest of your arguments was just sarcastic name calling so i assume you couldnt provide a better argument.
What name did I call you?
I don't need a "better argument" I think it's dreadful that a 13 stone 6 foot odd policeman needs to tase a 70 year old pensioner 3 times you don't , you and @TKDB think it a fine example of American policing which demonstrates clearly your type will forgive the police anything .

The lady who got tased wasn't be pro family, or pro law abiding.
She obstructed the police from doing their duty, because her grandson was in violation of his Parole over a weapons charge.

You need a better argument than putting your word's in other peoples mouths.
If any police officer breaks the law, then they deserve to be arrested and tried for their crimes.
Just like this lady deserved to go to jail for putting her hands on a police officer.

Like when a 13 stone 6 foot tall policeman kicks a 70 year old woman’s door and tases her 3 times like good law abiding should do
** *The lady who got tased wasn't be pro family, or pro law abiding.
Right she’s protecting her family but she’s not pro family?
****/She obstructed the police from doing their duty, because her grandson was in violation of his Parole over a weapons charge.
The police were heavy handed you troll....... . An officer tased the woman three times, including twice using the stun gun directly against her body rather than firing probes. One officer then used his knee to hold the 70-year-old grandmother to the ground.
Two police officers fully armed it takes in the U S to overpower a 70 year old frail granny GTFO you

I don’t agree with police brutality you do , you have no argument
